You can use this program to learn the Japanese Hiragana and Katakana alphabets.

I only used it once myself though so don't expect it to be bugfree.

Explanation:
1. Choice between Hiragana or Katakana, self explanatory.

2. Wether the program should go down the list in a chronological or random way. (eg. Ka, Ki, Ku, Ke, Ko instead of Ha, Ju, Ko, Be, Su)

3. Choice between "Multiple Choice" or "Manual Input"
Manual Input allows you to type what you think is the current sign into an input box.

4. Mute or Unmute the sound effects.

5. Switches the character to Romaji and the multiple choice to Hiragana/Katakana.

6. Allows you to jump to whatever 'card' you want.

I am thinking about adding Kanji as well but since I never use my program (I learned Hiragana/Katakana by simply sending a lot Japanese emails) I am not sure.

I do think it's a nice program to learn the signs with though! I based it off the flashcard principle, and mostly programmed it for fun.

IF you see garbage characters please make sure you have the asian language pack installed for Windows (or download the MS Gothic font somewhere)

Also I disabled the ..ya ..yu ..yo characters because I find them excessive. They are in the program though but there is no way for you to enable them, only I can.
Once you learn the ya, yu and yo characters kyu, gyo, nya and such are simple. Ki + small yu is Kyu, Gi + small yo is gyo, Ni + small ya is nya etc.

Anyway I hope you have as much fun learning this interesting language as I am.
